Photography

I have been interested in photography ever since I was a kid. For a long time I used various Minolta manual SLRs, starting with an SRT-101 when I was about 13 or 14 years old, and ending with an X700. Definitely nothing very fancy. I was always pleased with the simplicity of these cameras (I still have them), but a tech addict like me could not resist the lure of digital photography. So, in 2002, I purchased a Canon G2. Again, not a high end camera, but it has taken many great photographs for me since then. However, 5 years is a very long time in digital camera years, so now I am seriously considering moving up to a digital SLR, probably an entry level model like the digital Rebel. My cousin, a professional wedding photographer , has several digital Rebels that she uses for her personal travel photgraphy and she has spoken well of them. I recently had a chance to look at one of her Digital Rebels and was favorably impressed. So that is how I am leaning at the moment.

One of our greatest experiences was a six-month trip my wife and I took through SE Asia on our return to the states from New Zealand. We spent a lot of time photography the incredible sights of that part of the world. We were travelling slowly enough that we could develop the slides as we went, which gave us an opportunity to review and improve our techniques in "real time" (this was long before the advent of "instant feedback" digital cameras.) I have long had plans to digitize some images from that trip, but I haven't done so yet.

Below are several digital photo galleries.
